No one "owns" a date

I can't express my feelings regarding the alleged uproar from victims families over the use of 9/11 footage in the President's campaign ads any better than my pal Lee already has:

This is such crap. How typical that the media managed to dig up some 9/11 family members who are against these ads, but mysteriously weren't able to find a single person who was in favor of them. (Oh, that liberal media.) But the point is that the 9/11 attacks are the defining moment in contemporary American politics, and the way the war on terror and national defense are to be handled in the future are the defining issue in this political campaign. Bush is completely right to remind America visually just what an unspeakable tragedy befell us that day, because he's the only candidate in the race that has any type of coherent plan for dealing with the problem.

We're actually supposed to believe that of all the surviving family members there must be, not one of them supports the President's use of this imagery?

As Lee says, "Oh, that liberal media!"
