Are my eyes deceiving me?
Did the clue-bat fairy get in a few smacks at the UNSC while they were asleep last night?
How else could this have happened:
UNITED NATIONS (CNN) -- The U.N. Security Council voted unanimously Thursday to lift sanctions against Iraq after almost 13 years and give the United States and Great Britain authority to control the country until an elected government is in place.U.N. Security Council Resolution 1483 passed by a 14-0 vote with no abstentions. Syria's ambassador to the U.N. was not present and did not participate in the vote.
The resolution requires a one-year review of the resolution, a step sought in particular by Germany and France, so that the U.S.-led power of authority would not be open-ended.
The resolution dismantles the oil-for-food program in six months and lifts all sanctions except those on weapons.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go sniff (since I can't drink it) a glass of scotch in celebration!
