friday the 13th can't be worse

I know today is that most ominous of days, but what else could possibly go wrong this week? Let's take a look at what we've had on the not-bad-luck days so far shall we?

• We intercepted a pirate ship full of missile parts and chemicals, but because of "international law" we had to let it go on to its final destination even though that destination is a country that is known to harbor people who hate us and have grown up to be vicious terrorists, and--most importantly--has a government that lied to us about having anything to do with the shipment, but claimed it just as soon as they realized there was nothing we could do legally to stop them. (Where's Bill Clinton to twist the law when you need him!)


• The Saudis refused--yet again--to help get kidnapped women and children out of the kindgom, even though they claim to be our friends and respectful of our laws


• Hundreds of well-meaning but totally ignorant Yahoos in the entertainment industry wasted some more of our valuable time blathering on about making peace, not war even though they have no possible clue what to do about Saddam and all agree that he is a monster who must be removed somehow, and they won't say how (maybe by liposuction or some other non-lethal method they are more familiar with... botox injections perhaps?)


• Trent Lott publicly endorsed segregation (and then claimed he didn't mean it really), thus giving democrats something else to act smug and self-righteous about (don't get me wrong, I do think he's a racist, I just hate giving those phoneys ammo)


• Nick Nolte looked like hell again


• Whynotta was aghast at her sentencing hearing (her botox injections must be wearing off) but lacked the courage to actually open her mouth and speak


• And worst of all, Al Gore announced that he's hosting this week's Saturday Night Live! I guess THAT will be one night when I do get some sleep!
